For the price of a scone and a decaf in the café, I found an unoccupied table next to the American Wing Sculpture Courtyard, a glorious airy bright space. Bathed in the sunlight streaming through the glass ceiling stories above, I enjoyed the brilliant backlit Tiffany panels on a far wall.

It was the perfect occasion to contemplate the nuances of the Two Natures of Man, a dynamic marble sculpture so close to me I could imagine being in the studio with the sculptor as he refined his masterpiece. Off to my right a glass wall offered a Central Park panorama of red and gold fall foliage with warmly clad people rushing by.  Beauty abounded. No doubt Isis, the Egyptian goddess of Magic and Life would have understood.
